About Canvas to Church
The Southern Cape Evangelical Lutheran Congregation has been part of the Garden Route community for decades, with its roots reaching back to 1956. Over the years, the congregation has grown, changed and adapted, while remaining grounded in faith, fellowship and service.
Today, a new chapter is beginning. Following the sale of the congregation’s former property at Rondevlei Heights, the vision is to establish a new spiritual home in George — a place where people can worship, gather, celebrate life’s milestones and find friendship, comfort and belonging.
Canvas to Church is part of this journey. Through original artworks generously donated by artists, the project brings together creativity and community to help raise funds towards the new church. Every artwork becomes part of the story of building something that can serve generations to come.
